To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Women’s Sexual Assault Centre in Victoria, a benefit concert for the organization will take place over the course of a Saturday afternoon and evening at the Cornerstone Café in the heart of what is arguably Victoria’s most eclectic and artistic community, Fernwood. On October 20th, 20 different performers will each play a 20-minute set to entertain café-goers, immediately following an opening ceremony at 1:00pm. The event has been dubbed “20 / 20 / 20.” Everyone is welcome at the event, and admission for individuals is a suggested donation of $5 (aka 20 quarters).

Organizers are seeking donations from Victoria businesses to present at the opening ceremony. If you are a business owner who would like to present a cheque to the Women’s Sexual Assault Centre at this ceremony, however large or small, please contact the event coordinator (info above). Also, there are still ten of the twenty performance spots left to fill, for acoustic acts, comedians, poets, and actors who are interested. Media are encouraged to attend the ceremony.
