Frontline Films Matinee Showcase
- Feb 24, 2008 (Sunday), 5-7pm
- At The Roxy (Hillside and Quadra)
- $7 advance at Legends Comics (Johnson St), $8 at the door.
Local horror and exploitation homage films… maybe a good opportunity for a post-movie chat with your friends? If you want to invite folks to a post-movie meet-up, let us know and we’ll spread the word.
From the filmmaker:
Second screening of the feature “Dark Paradox”, about a writer’s unwitting discovery of the history and secret efforts of a cult in Victoria, Canada that has been engaged in a 60 year effort to open a portal between our world and another, in an attempt to let in a host of vicious interdimensional beings. Once the cult takes hold of the writer he is thrown into a web of horror in which the line between fantasy and reality blurs, the city is enveloped in chaos, and the fate of the world rests in his hands.
Playing after the feature will be four movie trailers shot over the past three months – “V-Squad” parts 1 and 2, about a quintet of sexy female assassins, “La Venganza del Diablo Azul,” about a luchador exacting his revenge on the criminals who killed his family, and “The Restauranteur,” about a restaurant owner turned killer.
Admission is $8, or $7 advance tickets from Legends comics (available soon). Cast and crew (and people providing locations!) will be on the guest list at the door SO YOU DO NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT ADVANCE TICKETS. No “plus ones” due to limited space. Not that there’s a mad rush for advance tickets, but I’ll have them at Legends Comics before Friday the 1st of February.
Showtime is 5PM, but please arrive early to get good seats. If you want to ONLY watch the trailers, you’ll just have to wait for some far-off internet download. If you want to see them on the big screen, come at 5.
