Is the Coming Out Group for Me?

If you a woman between 16 and 36 yrs old who is
questioning her sexuality, you are welcome to attend the Friday Night Coming Out Group. We hope you will find a sense of belonging and a safe place to share with other young women.

What Can I Expect at the Friday Night Group?

The Friday Night Coming Out Group offers you a confidential space where you can talk about relationships, coming out, being out, being unsure abut your sexuality, homophobia at school, work, and home, self esteem, etc. You do not have to talk, you can just listen.

However, everyone’s ideas, opinions and experiences are welcome.

How long is the Group?

The group is two hours long. There are relaxing and fun exercises to warm up group members. Members decide what they will discuss each night.

How else can the Women’s Creative network help me?

The Friday Night Group deals with general issues related to coming out and being out. The Women’s Creative Network offers a
list of services and links to more in-depth counselling on issues
related to family problems, abuse in current and past relationships, career counselling, and human rights issues.

The Friday night group welcomes lesbian, bisexual,
intersex, transgendered, transsexual and questioning youth.

Who Leads the Group?

The Friday Night Coming Out Group is relaxed, supportive and fun, like its facilitator, Diana Kucharska, a social change activist and
compassionate counsellor with over 20 years experience. She has an honors degree in psychology and a Master’s Degree in social work.

Diana has worked in a downtown community Centre developing groups for the LGBT community, as well as managed programs for
street people and mental health services. Diana has been active in the disability rights movement, the women’s movement, the anti-poverty movement and the lgbt movement. One of Diana’s most fun jobs was as coordinator of the women’s division of a lgbt dating service.

(Thanks for letting us know, Diana!)
